My Opinion. . .

My name is Zuly Perez. I have never created a blog and learning how to make one was very interesting. I enjoyed the process of making it because we had to pretend to be someone else from the past and we had to put ourselves in their position. But it was kind of hard thinking the way they would probably think in the past because now we are living a different life style and there's different situations going on.

My experience . . .

My name is Deana Quinones.

This project was new to me. I have never been on a blog site where I had to write a blog. I thought it was fun and creative and I really enjoyed being the "American Wife". I didn't really like having to compare the music because songs can have multiple meanings and finding a song could be really hard. My experience was enjoyable and I learned how to blog.

A song that keeps him in memory

A song that made me remember my husband constantly was Soldier Boy by the Shirelles. It reminds me of the relationship we shared and how much I miss him. It's also a way to say that I will never leave him. These are the lyrics to the song . . .

Soldier boy
Oh, my little soldier boy
I'll be true to you

You were my first love
And you'll be my last love
I will never make you blue
I'll be true to you
In the whole world
You can love but one girl
Let me be that one girl
For I'll be true to you

Wherever you go
My heart will follow
I love you so
I'll be true to you
Take my love with you
To any port or foreign shore
Darling you must feel for sure
I'll be true to you

Soldier boy
Oh, my little soldier boy
I'll be true to you

This war is pointless

In my opinion I think this war is pointless because many lives have been lost over the years and for what? Communism around the world has spread and I believe we can't stop it all. They say this war was started to protect the United States from communism as well has other countries, but it has only killed Americans and has caused destruction in Vietnam. I am mostly upset about this because our country is drafting in men to fight in a war they may not want to be a part of. My husband was drafted into this war where he may not even come out alive. Our two young children are currently growing up without a father. This war is causing more damage than it was meant to fix. I do not support this war or any decisions made by our military leaders to invade Vietnam and "prevent" communism from spreading.

American Wife

My name is Lucy Darla Smith. My husband has recently been sent to fight in the war in Vietnam. I met my husband when I was 18 years old back in 1938. We got married when I turned 24 in 1944. I was born on July 10, 1920. Since my husband went to war I've had to step up and provide for our 2 children, Jonathan and Joshua. I currently now work in a factory while my two boys are left in daycare. When I leave from work I pick up my children and we go home. My husband has now been in the war for a year now and is dearly missed. I am now 40 and it is 1960. My young boys are now 4 and 6. They attend the Blue Sunset Daycare. When I don't have to go to work I spend time with my kids who miss their father. I look back to the day where he was drafted to join this war. . . and I wish it never happened. I am an American Wife.
